Metro Ethernet

Connect two or more of your locations with a dedicated fiber line, independent of the internet, as if they were on the same local network.

  • L2Layer 2, like the same local network
  • 24/7Technical support
  • 24hours to respond to faults

What is Metro Ethernet?

Metro Ethernet connects two of your addresses with a dedicated fiber line, separate from the internet. The connection between the two ends works like a local area network (LAN) in the same building; traffic does not go out to the internet.

For businesses that continuously transfer data between head office and branch, factory and warehouse, or two buildings, it is a more predictable connection than tunnels set up over the internet. The speed is the same at both ends and is set according to your needs.

Highlights

  • A line dedicated to you

The line carries only your traffic; it is not shared with other users.

  • Separate from the internet

Data stays between the two ends; your inter-branch traffic is kept separate from internet traffic.

  • Equal speed

Download and upload speeds are the same at both ends; capacity is set according to your needs.

  • End devices from us

We install and activate the connection devices at both ends.

  • Our own fiber network

The route is planned over our fiber network in Esenyurt and Silivri; we carry out a site survey for ends our network does not reach.

  • 24/7 support

We respond to faults within 24 hours and aim to resolve them within 48 hours.

Use cases

  • Head office and branches

The branch connects to the server, accounting and inventory software at head office as if it were on the same network.

  • Factory and warehouse

Production, shipping and inventory systems work on a single network.

  • Camera network

Cameras in different buildings are brought together in a single recording center.

  • Office and server room

You connect your office to the separate building where your servers are located.

  • Backup

Regular data backup and disaster recovery between two locations.

  • Shared phone system

You bring the phones at two locations together on a single PBX.

How it works

  1. Tell us what you need

Specify the addresses to be connected and your speed requirement in the quote form.

  2. Route and site survey

We plan the route over our fiber network and carry out an on-site survey for ends our network does not reach.

  3. Written quote

We send you a written quote covering the route, speed and price; the contract is made in the company's name.

  4. Installation and activation

We install the end devices, test the line at both ends and hand it over.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Metro Ethernet and a VPN over the internet?

A VPN connects branches through an encrypted tunnel over the internet; speed and latency depend on the current state of the internet. With Metro Ethernet, the two ends are connected by a line dedicated to you, and traffic does not go out to the internet.

How many locations can I connect?

Metro Ethernet connects two points; you can connect several branches to head office with separate lines. To bring many locations together in a single private network, MPLS VPN may be more suitable.

Which speeds are possible?

The speed is set according to your needs and is equal at both ends. We finalize the route and capacity in the quote.

Who provides the end devices?

We are responsible for installing and activating the connection devices at both ends.

What if one of my addresses is outside your network?

We carry out an on-site survey and specify in the quote how that end will be reached.

Does Metro Ethernet also provide internet access?

No, Metro Ethernet is a private line between your two locations. For internet access, you can take Business Internet as well.

What happens if there is a fault?

You can reach our call center 24/7 on 0850 308 19 99. We respond to faults within 24 hours and aim to resolve them within 48 hours.
